Caddy wing mirror

Hiya managed to completely confuse myself with my Driver side wing mirror

Thanks for some local yob my Driver side wing mirror has been completely obliterated. I can see numerous whole mirror replacements on Ebay but noticed my radio antenna seems to be in the wing mirror too (great idea VW)

Does anyone know if I get a standard replacement if i need to buy the antenna as well or should it come with it?

Also does anyone know if replacing the whole mirror is a door card off job?

If buying a complete secondhand mirror from eBay i’d just ask them if it has the aerial. I think if the mirror come off a later van it should have your aerial in it, earlier vans had the aerial built into the windscreens so it could depend on what year the mirror is from. Is there nothing left of your old mirror that salvageable?

Yes you’ll need to remove the door card to get to the module where it plugs in. That’s a simple job, just a few screws and unclipping some clips.

If removing the door card I'd also get some new plastic door clips, I always seem to break or bend one or two, they're cheap enough on ebay.

Andy hi, I have a mirror you can have. The Ariel just unclips from the edge of the mirrors. But you will need to take the door off. If you want it let me know and I can explain what you need to do. Trust me if I can do it you can.
