Caddy with tailgate instead of barn doors

I’ve been down to tps today and got the picture of the strengthening beam across the top of the doors, it looks like the barn door beam needs to be cut out and the tailgate one welded in so I’ve given up on this idea!
If it doesn’t go in perfectly square and in the exact right position the fitment of the door in the closed position will look a right pig.
I can cope with wires but cutting/welding/painting isn’t for me so I’ll stick with my barn doors
