Black lower grill.mesh?

Post by subdub »

I am looking to colour code my front bumper. I have seen a white caddy on here that has the to grill and bottom grill painted black. My question is.....the bottom grill( the non moveable bit) seem s to be really black. I would think when painted it wouldnt be that black because of the open slat design. Are people putting mesh behind. Sorry if this waffle makes no sense at all!!

Not sure if I understand what you mean. If the grill is being painted black (gloss black) the grill itself should appear darker than the standard textured plastic. With it being gloss it reflects more light off of the surface so appears darker.

I don't see how, whether the grill is painted or not, it should have any effect on what is seen between the slats but maybe I've misunderstood. not heard of anyone put mesh behind.

You see on this one. The bottom grill looks really black. Apologies to whose van it is!

The ambient light will determine what the grill looks like, and if it's photograph, the type of camera used and it's settings.

I think you're getting confused by the angle of the photo. The slats are quite wide so from an elevated photo they would easily appear as a solid section collectively. I don't think mesh would be used generally. Also I wouldn't say it's advisable anyway as that would restrict air flow.
