New owner needing advice

Post by Whit1991 »

Hey everyone
After a lot of saving I am now officially the owner of my very own very caddy maxi .
I have bought some 18” Santiago alloys for it and now I just need to lower it so they don’t look so out of place.
But I am really struggling to find a lowering kit that will do the job. Everywhere I look there are differing opinions. So could really do with some guidance.

Welcome to the forum.

There isn't a massive amount of options when it comes to lowering.
On the front, you have options of springs only, springs and dampers, coilover or air. The hubs do differ in size depending of factory power output, only two sizes (50mm & 55mm), so you need to make sure to order what suits your hubs.
Other than a complete revamp of the leaf spring suspension, a relocation kit is about the run of the mill setup for the rear. The axle is relocated above the leaf springs with special brackets, then the rear leaf hanger is changed for a version with extra holes for adjustability.
