hi guys
has anyone got any experience with any android or the rcd 330 headunits with the carplay? does the car play and audio work over the bluetooth or does the phone have to be plugged in?
cheers nick

As Liam mentioned, it does need to be a wired connection for CarPlay

If you get the right version of the RCD330 it streams audio over bluetooth (I think some early ones didn't), but carplay and android auto are cable only.
I just put all my music on a 16GB SD card in the RCD330 anyway. I just use the bluetooth for phone, and only used the android auto once anyway

superb sounds like a good option then!
is the rcd 330 dab compatible and is it easy to then connect a sub as well?
cheers

Re: android or rcd330 headunits
I think they are a great head unit for the money. I generally have mine plugged in to run CarPlay (charging your phone at the same time). When I get in the van and don’t connect it to the cable it switches to Bluetooth phone mode automatically. It’s not a dab unit but you can use tunein app for CarPlay for dab stations and imagine there are plenty of alternatives if using android. No sub out though dude

I have RCD330 and I highly recommend it to everyone. Super quality in relation to the low price. Here is my YouTube channel where you can see how it works:
