Adrian Flux/Brentacre/Greenlight insurance - Anyone made a claim?

Post by JD2k »

After looking around, these 3 insurers seem like the common choice when it comes to cheap modified van insurance (UK). I just wondered if anyone has made a claim through one of the above and what their experience was like?
My insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month so looking to get some quotes.

Hi, just made a claim against Adrian Flux for my modified Defender. 8 weeks!! They had photos, signed docs regarding spray work etc for a guaranteed value. But still drew it out forever. I’m with Aviva for my van....... only company under £500 - due to the claim being “my fault” as it was stolen.

I've seen a few bad reviews about Adrian Flux, I'm leaning more towards Greenlight out of the 3 with what I've read. Thanks, I will look into Aviva as well, was that £500 with all mods declared? I'm only looking to lower the van, it's on 18" wheels with hopefully a remap at some point.

Got a quote from Brentacre for £565 with 1 year NCD (& 4 years mirrored NCD I have on my BMW). Filled in all my information online and got a call back the same day, and they were very helpful on the phone. So far so good as my renewal was £965!

You make a very good point about making a claim. I'm with Brentacre and TBH hadn't considered that making a claim might be an issue.

If the van was stolen would they require me to give some proof of my long list of mods that I have insured with them?

I'm not sure how I would do if they did. Maybe better start taking some photos !

I’m with Brentacre and when ever I ring to add mods they just say ok no bother, I’m always thinking “this is to easy” they never want any proof or receipts.
