Hello,
I have a 2007 1.9tdi Caddy which I was using for my watersports kit down in France.
The camshaft/followers have failed and I need to replace them.
I received a quote for €1800! I know this is BS as the kit online is £285ish.
What I need to know is the process of installation or if any one has a guide on how to do it? I'm a ships engineer by trade so i'm handy with engines, just never worked on car engines before.
Please if you have any advice or links to information that can help me get this sorted, please post them below!
Thank you in advance.

Is the van in Blighty or abroad?
Camshaft are easy enough to do but you will need timing pins etc to time up.
Would also need new shells for camshaft/seals/gaskets etc
Would be worth doing injector seals whilst there is easy access as well. Depends on what you work you have been quoted for.
None gen parts should be about 350-400
But you might only get the shells from vw at a priemium. But do agree €1800 Is a bit steep like
