Injector failure - claim lodged TBM

Post by Harrier »

My 2014 1.6 TDI Caddy has had the emissions fix.
Had been in France, camping, 1700 trouble free miles and really pleased with how the van had been. Lugged camping kit, luggage and 2 bikes, all in the back. Then the injector went pop. RAC got us home, thank the Lord I decided to join!!!
Didn't know anything about VW TBM, so got it fixed by a highly rated Diesel Injection specialist, £470.
Then did some googling and discovered that the injection system is provided 24 months warranty from application of the emissions software update. I've emailed my local dealer, to lodge a claim and joined the emissions scandal FB group, for advice.

I'll keep the forum updated as to how things go.

Unless you get the work done at a VW dealer, they will not pay for any repairs.

This is what I was told by my local dealer, after I had to pay £750 for recovery and injection fitment.

I had to pay because I hadn't had the fix done by then!

I've had it done now and so far haven't had any hiccups.......

The action group on FB has a few members that have had repairs done at non-franchise and been paid out. It may be worth having a look on FB
