Window smashed bag stolen

Post by Caddyshackle »

Working in West London yesterday (Holland Park)
Between Midday and 3pm my drivers side window was smashed and bag stolen from passenger seat.
A few grands worth of tools in the back and they just stole my dakine backpack containing passport, clothes, toiletries and my Leica Disto D5 (laser tape measure (fancy one)). No internal motion sensor alarm on the caddy then, bit suprised for a 2013 vehicle. Mainly just raging at the scumbag that did it! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Then 1.5hr drive home on the first cold rainy day for a long time. Got home to a banging curry the mrs made for me which cheered me up. Was making a G&T in the new glasses she just brought and dropping ice in to one the glass smashed...... 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Gave up at that point!

Anyone know a good place for cheap glass or a breaker with a caddy in anywhere near Silverstone?

Not a good day for smashing glass
Just had mine replaced by the insurance with the glass/windscreen cover I had, would that not be an option?

Insurance claim not worth it in excess alone, and for £20 Ish I can easily change the glass

Not same as Touran. There are different tints green, grey and clear I think. VW/TPS will be able to tell you which you need for your van
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is

Try your local independent windscreen places, they can be a lot cheaper than you'd think, especially compared to the big firms.
Sorry chaps, much as our 2k looks nice, I prefer my Mk2. ;)

Easy glass to change yourself mate
Just grab one from scrapyard for 15 to 20 quid and fit it yourself
No difference in electric or manual..same glass
Give me a shout if you need any advice

Does anyone know it the glass the same in all caddy2k’s, as in early 2.0 and later 1.6l?
Rang every breaker in 30miles of me and finally found a window but it isn’t like I can take mine with me to check the size lol.

Cheers Bungo, should be fine changed a few windows before, shouldn’t be too taxing! Just happy they didn’t get in the back and clean my tools out!
