Small upgrades

Post by Afielding »

Hi all
Quite new to caddy, just been boarding mine out to make as a day van for mountain bike trips.
Looking for some info on decent upgrades if anyone knows of good part numbers or where to get from.
1. Change to double din stereo
2. Sliding door plate cover
3. Top center cover of dash rather than just a square non useable space
4. Center arm rest
5. Ex British Gas van - rear windows are fully black is this just a film or paint?
6. Side windows (opening for sliding doors)
7. Front wind deflectors
8. Side rails.

Small list just to get it going.
Got wheels booked in for powder coating in 2 weeks.
Thanks for all your help.

Change the interior bulbs to leds. Gives a nice white light.

Where did you get the sliding door cover?

Hi fella, welcome to the money pit.
Like the sound of your ‘small mods’. I have only had my van (ex BG) for a few months so, like you am at the start of the process.
I’ve fitted an RCD330 head unit. Love it.
Fitted a Caddy Life arm rest, love it.
Remapped, really love it.
Fitted windows in the sliders, ok till I had extra tint added. Better now.
New wheels fitted and look great but it now really needs to be lowered.
Wind deflectors fitted and are useful at night as you can crack the windows and save on condensation build up. Was thinking of fitting a roof vent but don’t want anything as big as a ‘fantastic fan’
Back windows, by the way, are film covered and I’m told you can have the film removed and tint added for about £100.
All insulated inside and sliding bed made but not fitted yet. I’m having a wobble about fitting the wall lining. Don’t know why but just don’t fancy the job. I’ll get on it this avo, maybe.
