Mfsw straight fit?

Post by notagasman »

I've got a 2015 (14 plate) highline caddy. It has MFD. Cruise control on stalk to left, MFD control to stalk on right.

I've just been told I can buy a MFSW without cruise control and it'll work straight away, no other changes needed except swapping out the right hand stalk.

Anyone know if this is true?

This is highly unlikely.
Unless the person who told you this knows which version steering wheel control module you have inside your steering column and knows it is of the type that supports MFSW, they are giving you false information.
Besides the fact that the instrument cluster will not like two sources of control, trip stalk and mfsw, there are several other considerations to be made.

Doc is exactly right. You are unlikely to have a compatible steering wheel controller and you are not supposed to mix a multi function steering wheel with an "MFD" stalk. Also coding usually needs to be done to enable the MFSW.
