I tried, but couldn't get it to work for me...

In the end went for something that looked a bit like the Panamericana, but even then the silver didn't work for me. My money's on black alloys (with big spokes to let the rocks get out!)...

They do add a bit of height. I can just fit in my garage with them on (literally with about 5mm to spare). With the basket on top of that, no chance...
Thanks, are they better or cheaper that what Thule offers?

Cheaper (at least where I am), can take more weight, and don't have any of the bar extending past the foot. No brainer for me, YMMV...

I like those wheels, are they standard steels?

Far from it! Audi Forged Alloy... popular with the T25 Syncro scene...

Does anyone know of a roof cage that can be fitted to the Caddy OEM roof bars rather than mounting it to cross bars, which mount to the roof bars? Or, is there a van rack which replaces the roof bars and looks better that the usual galvanized ones that trade vans use?

Thanks

John

Generic cages either fit to gutters or cross bars, so you'd have to use something custom made for Caddy (as you don't want cross bars, and there are no gutters). In Europe there isn't much demand for a 4x4 style cage, and lots of demand for trade racks so that's all you'd find there. In South Africa there's nothing standard (not enough demand), but I could get something made up for the Caddy roof, there are plenty of shops doing custom 4x4 bars, racks etc. I think you're SOL with regards to finding something that fits the Caddy roof bars, they're way too narrow compared to any 4x4 roof. In Australia, there seems to be a company making a 4x4-esque roof-rack, which you can find here:

I'm looking for some accesories to complete the offroad look but I haven't decided what I want. Maybe a light bar or some type of roof rack..

As I work at a 4x4 breakers yard I have been on the look out for this size tyre, loving this look

Thanks for the info on the racks. I'm going to do the sums and see it I like the idea of painting a commercial rack or going with the Thule combination.

Nice, wanted Geolanders but can't get the size I wanted in South Africa. What size are you using?
