Caddy life mirror switch

Post by adscad2011 »

Hi

Was just wondering how people have got round to fitting the caddy life mirror switch in there caddy for powerfold mirrors. I’ve read a few threads on here and brought the switch that everyone seems to get but now just wondering where/how they have installed it.

Thanks in advance

Installation is quite simple, you just remove your old switch and fit the new one, it fits in the same position.

Hi thanks for reply, ok I’m sure il figure it out. Was just asking as original one looks as it all one complete unit and the new one I got looks as thought it’s in a round housing. I don’t know how to put pictures up so I could be bit more clearer in what I’m trying to say.

What part number is on the new one you've bought?
What year model is your caddy?

That's a golf part number, it's not gonna fit a caddy.

My apologies, I misread the number you've posted.
1KA-959-565E is to fit a Caddy4 door card.

You will need the one to fit the previous caddy door card. A Touran number as the older caddy didn't come with folding mirrors from factory.

I can’t find a touran switch with powerfold option on it. Do you know the part number?

Ok thanks for your help much appreciated. Just one more question do the newer 5t touran door cards fit the caddy?

1T2-959-565J REH if you don't want the brushed metal trimmed version listed above.
They are the same price.

I don't think the 5T Touran door cards will fit, under the door cards the actual door is very different.

Am I right in thinking the new caddy door cards will fit mine?

Not straight fit and they won't line up with the dashboard.
