New side rail problem

I have ordered a new side rail to fit a side rail cover to. But i have a problem fitting, the bolt holes dont line up. It seems that the holes are not in 1 line. Anyone else had this problem ? Its an original vw part...

Can't recall my holes being staggered like that when I fitted mine, I would have a word with whoever you purchased it of.
Pretty sure all the fixing holes should be in a straight line. Who or where did you get the rail from?

What is the part no of the rail?

Have you sorted this out? They are not in line indeed on my caddy 4 and it's 6 holes in total, not 5. Perhaps it has been 'updated' for mk4 caddy. What year is yours?

my caddy is from 2012. i ordered a 2K0843872G and it fits without problems
