Wind deflector problem

Post by Grizzly78 »

Hi , I’m new and I have just installed some new team heko wind deflectors to my 2013 Vw caddy 1.6 tdi 102hp. The issue is that the drivers window keeps reopening after I close it. Ive adjusted the clips a few times and seem to have a problem the passengers side had no problem !! Does anyone s have a fix for this . Thank you

You need to reset the window limit stops
Put the window all the way down and hold the switch for 5 seconds, put it all the way up and do the same
That will reset the one touch closing and should fix the problem
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is

my right window keeps making a crunching and grinding noise since i installed the wind deflectors
could it be the metal tab that you wedge in or something else?

Is it making a noise just as the window comes to top? If so, try removing the clips and re fitting them, they may not be sitting in the channel properly

Take it all out and check it. Check you haven’t moved the rubbers. Also that you haven’t dropped something down the window gap.

I've found my Heko ones pretty crappy. I had to adust the clips a LOT to get them working, and the anti-jam thing still triggers sometimes!!!

Then, because they fit in the window track, if you drive with them down a tiny bit, the glass rattles on the deflector.

The "Genuine" VW (Japan) ones on my wifes JDM Touran adhere to the outside, and work WAY better, and are a lot quieter - infinitely superior :( Wish I'd found some of them for mine!

had no problems with my Heko's...

have you ensured the metal clips are fully pushed all the way into the channel? When I was installing mine i had a few issues with them not being fully seated but that was resolved by pushing them in with a big flat-end screwdriver...a year later and not a single issue!

your windows shouldn't be rattling about, metal clips or not!

Cheers for this!
Although it's only fixed my driver's side, weirdly. But that's still way better than it was.

For anyone else having this problem and the above fix isn't playing ball, I have found that if you hit the button a second time once the window is fully at the top, it won't come back down. Not ideal but better than having to have your window ajar
