Tips for removing shocker from hub socket

Has anyone got any tips for removing the shock absorber from hub as they seem to have seized in

Wd40 and also a special tool bit that sits in the cut out behind the hub where the shock slots into.
Insert the bit and turn 90 degrees then the hub/shock should pull out nice and easy.

get some passat alloy hubs for the new shocks. but wd40 and using something in the slot to pry it open should work to get it out

ive found a right angled pry bar tapped in the slot does the job

Just be careful with hammers, chisels, crowbars, etc, as it is possible to break the casting if you give it too much

Good point mate i found using a block of wood between the hammer and hub to take away shock
