If you’re lowered fit MK5 golf GTi drop links and it will be sorted as they mount how you’d expect them to (sided).

Considerably shorter than the stock Caddy ones and are also sided (both face rear) so fit better than the stock items. Prob won’t be quite as good as the H&R adjustable ones though, as you’ll be able to set the position perfect, you’ll be able to side yours so both are facing the rear.

the reason for the droplinks facing opposite ways is that the front shocks on both sides are the exact same part so you can swap left and right around and it still works fine so if you think about it its correct as the shock has just turned 180 degrees

For standard shocks but once you fit coil overs etc they should be sided as the mounting bracket is towards the front of the shock body, at least that’s the case with mine.

Nice, thanks for the tip.. I just refitted some coilovers on mine and noticed the droplinks were still the original ones... Are the golf droplinks shorter?

I run these from Tim at spring loaded suspension, poly rubbers last ages too, normal ones split after a while if your running low....

Nice I will take a look at these..

I had to raise her by 10mm as the front lip was getting destroyed (getting in and out of petrol station etc some dips in the road..) I thought I was going to lose the front bumper completely when I went to Thruxton last year.

Thanks for the help

Are you sure they are OEM?
I have a mk5 R32 and the drop links are the same as the Caddy ie 340mm between centres

They were bought as standard (not genuine though), I’ve never measured them so not sure about the actual length.

I know it’s been a while but thought I’d update this as I recently replaced my drop links and Beaker2135 is right they weren’t MK5 golf ones. To cut a long story short ended up buying some Mercedes Vito droplinks which are 280mm long, sided and have M12 fixings. Link to the ones I bought below.
