I'm looking at get Insulation and carpeting in my van but I see some carpeting is need and other is bored on ply and looks very box and square looking... I prefer the smoother look....
Will I still get enough warmth for sleeping in in if I don't ply ?

Hi.
Ply lining isn’t meant to add warmth to the vehicle, it is meant to protect the inside and stop it being dented from the inside out.
If you use the correct insulation, that will ensure the van stays warm at night.
Most people will use a sound deadening material, then put insulation over that.

It depends. If you’re going to carry anything that may move about and smack into the sides of the van, I’d say ply line. But if it’s only going to be lighter weight items, or things that won’t move about. I’d say don’t bother.
However, I think that others have bought ply panels for the rear doors and side panels (think where the windows are on a caddy maxi life) carpeted and fitted those.
There’s a lot of people who have done it on here. Check their build threads.
