Caddy Life rear seat removal

Post by Bigrace »

Hi all. Thinking of buying mk4 Caddy life and was wondering how easy/hard it is to remove the rear seats or are they fixed to the floor so they don't actually come out

The 2nd row seats are really neat. They are split 70/30 and can either together or individually fold down so backrests are flat, tilt forward pivoted on the front or can be removed completely. To fold flat, simply tug on the strap, then to pivot forwards, pull the lever near the floor, and then to remove completely, pull another strap underneath and they snap out from the floor.

The 3rd row seats (if fitted, standard on LWB, option on SWB), can be tilted forwards to backrest is flat, or removed by pulling the strap.

All very easy, only thing that's harder than it looks is the weight. I reckon the single one behind the driver seat is 20-30kg at least and the double one is nearly twice that.

Here is a picture with 2 seats tilted forwards, and 1 seat folded flat, so you don't always need to remove them completely for lots of space. Mind you this is is LWB maxi though.

That's great and answered everything I needed to know. The caddy I'm going to look at is the swb model. I only need one extra seat really so I'll probably just remove the other seat and leave it in the garage. Thanks for the swift reply
