Sorry lads been away, the fitting is very straight forward, once you have the input cable for the back of the headunit.

There are a couple of excellent how to’s on here, fitting a camera to a VW/any aftermarket is the same.

For me I used this cheap camera

I used a feed off the main fuse board for the 12v feed on the input connection at the headunit and ran a wire off the same 12v feed through the van when I was fitting the camera cable. Some others use the wiper motor, either is good.

You need a time delay filter relay like this on the feed from the reverse light feed.

I used this site a good how to

http://rcd330plus.com/showthread.php?tid=13

Once all is fitted you may need to change some coding with VCDS, the RCD330 will show as a it own unit

Here is my coding
Radio
Part #: 6RD035187B
Coding: 16000440040005 (hex)
Component: Radio
[No fault codes]

To be honest it’s very straight forward, the connections into the reverse light few is probably the worse part. As away read read and double check all

Should not be an issue, mine are factory and still showed on radio until I fitted the camera

Aftermarket RCD330

Post by Ripley55 » Thu May 23, 2019 5:00 pm

Guys
I keep coming back to looking at a reverse camera, and have a couple more questions regarding my RCD330
So, I’ve got the cable
Image
And need advice on how it fits, as I said earlier, this unit was a blinding buy, and was an easy install, so getting it back out to fit the cable should be a doddle, it’s just what do I need to do Image
Secondly I’ve been looking at a wireless system as per the photos attached and wondering if anyone has tried this ? they are under £30 on eBlag ? I’m not lazy but it saves trying to run cables to the head unit ?
ImageImageImage
Allegedly these are ‘Designed for VW Transporter/Caddy?
What’s your thoughts chaps, Advice ? Pitfalls ?

I have the wired version for £10, works grand, the angle is a tad low, but my main reason was to see the tow bar works a treat.

It’s a van so wiring it is not too hard at all

Hello @Boonalon
Wouldn’t mind a quick line on how to install that cable at the back of the 330, and any tips cheats as it were. As I said I’m not lazy but would really love to try the wireless route.
Cheers
Dave
