:(

I have a caddy and she was in the garage last week loud clunking noise when running sounded like a bag of nails. A clutch repair kit was fitted. Now when I start her it sounds like the engine over runs for a couple of seconds . Is this normal.

Can you explain what you mean by over running?
Does it run on when shut the ignition off?

No when I start the van it’s sounds like I have kept the key turned when I have let go.

Oh ok, so your starter motor is staying engaged for a bit longer than it needs to.
That may be a sign that it needs replacing or at least a service and lubrication.

Sometimes if you have a duel mass clutch, a sign of wear is starter motor issues.

The clutch has been replaced, it’s only on start up, drives and goes through gears fine. I don’t totally trust the garage that did the repair but I had no option but to take it to somewhere close. It sound like it normally does but with a little extra growl on start up.

Your description definitely makes it sound like a starter motor that is slow to disengage.
Can you upload a video to youtube and post a link?
