Re: Sound proofing any one use flash band
Flashband will be just fine behind ply or under a floor. It's not ideal for anywhere that might get damp or any panels that might get warm.
Closed cell foam such as Armaflex is good for both sound and heat insulation and can be stuck on the back of roof and side hardboard panels.
If it's purely noise that you want to reduce, add some carpet or soft finishes, these soak up sound so it not bouncing around inside.

I am going to carpet it as well complete but just seem annoyed to buy a decent brand to cover it all in carpet I am simply just trying to reduce road noise inside the van

Re: Sound proofing any one use flash band
I don't know if you've ever used flashband, if you have you'll know it goes soft with not much heat and if it does get warm it stinks of bitumen.
If you were to apply it to the inside of a panel that the sun night shine of the outside, you'd most likely find it'd fall off.

Flashband is fine on the floors etc. Just not on roof or side panels where it might get warm.
