Hi All not had the response i hoped for on this subject Now new egr fitted with warranty, rollback not possible as part would not be covered by updates to software Maybe in future it will be possible to resolve these issues that E189 has caused to our vans Thank you Pete

I’ve been speaking to phantom tuning today about this... the guy was knowledgable and told me he could perform a fix reversal, followed by a stage two remap for £375.... basically, I pay for the remap and get the reversal done free. I think I’m going to go with it, to find out what the van should be capable of!

What's the verdict? I'm presuming it's a worthwhile spend? :D

Well since having it done it’s more responsive better and better on fuel (still not great on fuel though). All in all I think it’s a lot better on the older software

I did have it mapped on the update but wasn’t anywhere as good as it is now

That’s kind of what I was hoping you’d say 👍
I bought mine already ‘fixed’ and it was only through reading various stuff on here that I realised it should be better.... not that it’s bad, coming from an old kangoo that I’ve smoked around in for 13 years, it’s like a Ferrari!!😂

Depending on my husbandly chores over the next few days, I might go and see them👌

See when I test drove mine was proper lively then when I had it delivered I was like this feels different, turns out dealership had done it without my knowledge 2 days after I bought it. It just always felt like it should be better and tbh now it is.
Everyone’s opinion is different but I prefer mine as is now

HI I have no response from questions that i have asked dealer & Volkswagen and not likely to after numerous phone calls to both I have bitten the bullet & had e189 rollback done hopefully this will reduce EGR work load & not so many DPF regenerations it took about 25 mins to reprogram and drove 20 miles home as good as gold. Only time will tell if I have done the right thing but for a cost of £50.00 plus vat its a gamble i am willing to take. If i get any problems I will add to this post to let you all know Thank Peter :D :D :D

That sounds lime a bargain Peter.... The going rate for the reversal seems to be about £150

HI only time will tell i was sick to death of dealers response of i will ring you back & vw ask you if everything is okay and do not respond to your questions i have decided to forget 2 years warranty i had to pay dealer £285.00 pounds for parts and the fitting was under warranty although my update was done in Aug 2016 so trust building measure had expired Now new EGR & Cooler fitted by dealer hopefully updated version will not have to work so hard & regeneration will not be so often so watch out for updates on this post Thanks Peter :D :D

just booked mine in for the rollback at SA Tuning...... The cost is more at £150, but I'm hoping it's a good place to start from. I'll decide if I'm going to remap to stage 1 after I've driven it 'normal' for a bit👍
