I ordered this off the bay

My question is, will this be enough to do all/most of my Caddy?
I was planning to start in the rear and work my way to the cabin area

Hi mate

To be honest it won't do whole van well depending on how well you do van ie side panel roof floors and doors if so you will have no where near enough the floor is like 16 sqf mate

I thought as much. I don’t wanna do a half assed effort. I’ll get another couple of boxes or is there a cheaper way ie bulk buying?

I've almost finished sound deadening my SWB caddy.
So far I've used 50 sheets of silent coat 2mm and 23 sheets of 4mm.
The 2mm sheets are 375 x 270mm = 5.06 sq m
The 4mm sheets are 375 x 265mm = 2.28 sq m

I've just order more, (23 sheets 4mm, 20 sheets 2mm) but I (will) have pretty much total coverage of floor, sides and roof including cab area. Inner and outer door skins and any accessible areas where I can get my hands in.

In total I will have used around 11 sq m or 118 sq ft.

That’s really useful to know, cheers. So your sheets are bigger?

I’ll have a search options

Where have you used the 4mm?

Yes, the sheets are twice the size of the ones you bought, so they work out about the same price per sq m.
Silent Coat is available in half size sheets too - the same size as the ones you bought. Before you buy a bulk box, do check the sheet size. I nearly bought the wrong ones...….
I've used 4mm on the rear wheel arches, the load floor and inside the outer door skins on the front doors. It surprising how much you can use if you go for maximum coverage.

I may also use 4mm for the cab floor when I get round to doing that. I'd also recommend getting some aluminium foil tape to cover joins - especially over the arches as they can become a bit of a patchwork and the butyl adhesive is really tacky.

I used a quality pair of scissors to cut sheets to size, the squares really help with guesstimating the size/shape. I found using the handle of the scissors and the handle of the roller to be great for smoothing the material into curves .

To be honest, I've gone a bit OTT with mine.

Where did you order larger sheets from?

I am going to try and cover as much as poss and it may work out easier with larger sheet. Did you have much wastage?

I've just finished my cab floor and got carried away .... used approx 7 mtr square. Its deffo worth the effort but easy to become obsessed with covering every bit of paint in sight hahahhaImage

I’ve only done one arch of my VW caddy maxi and used 10 sheets!

@Splitty66

looks like a quality job though (y) have you got an estimate of how much the whole van cost to cover?
