Help fitting 3rd row seats please

Hello, new here. I have bought a 2013 maxi which I am converting to a camper. As i will need 4 seats at times i have bought a set off ebay. These will make up part of the bed also.

So i got the 3rd row of seats, two seatbelt extension plates and the inertia reels but no other fittings.

My van is already carpeted so and mounting points are currently hidden.

I need to know where the mounting points are and what other parts I need to fit the seats. Done a google search but cannot find any details on fitting which would hopefully include images.

I am guessing i need bolts, the upper loops the belts run through and the floor hardware the seats clip into?

Much appreciated Rob

Just giving this a gentle nudge up. Until i have the seats fitted i cannot plan out the rest of the fit out in more detail.

Thanks Rob

Hi Astro,
Have you got a van or life model ? I think all Life 's come with a tailgate and therefore have different strengthening points - this
may include provision for the third row of seatbelts. The van may not have these points.
I'm sure someone who knows for sure will be along soon.
Cheers, Vlad

Hi mate. There is a section on how to carry out this work in the ‘how to’ part of the forum. Once you’ve made 6 posts, and Doc has approved your access, you’ll have the info you need

Ok, 6th post. Doc if see this can you give me access. Much appreciated

Slow progress on the conversion as broke a few ribs last week. Blinged up the outside a little though.

Ordered lots of parts. Fitted reversing camera and a fast charge usb up front.

If only it was as simple as reading one topic and making a specific reply in that topic. Image

Thanks, i can now view the how to and read this thread.

I am assuming his was a swb. The mounting position shown for the right hand seatbelt reel and part for the plate is helpful.
The left-hand is less clear. My van has shelves fitted above the extended wheel arch pressing. I should be able to mount to the wheel arch though and fit a steel plate behind.

The upper seat belt location plates i think is different in my Caddy. Rather than on the rear upright post i think i can feel plates already in place further forward on the roof box section directly above where the reels fits?

Next i need to acquire the seat rails and mushroom bolts and possibly the strengthening plates that go underneath the van.

The upper seatbelt hangers (didn't come with my seat belts).

Mounting bolts.

Is this a trip to VW or are there any members who could possibly supply these?

Thanks Rob

I'm also looking to do the same thing with mine. Does anyone have any experience with quick release seats?
