Windscreen technical question.

Post by Caddyluv »

So I have asked my insurance to agree to put in genuine vw glass. They said it shouldn’t be a problem but could take a couple of days to get back to me. Takes me to Friday, then vw have said it would take two days to get the glass here. Then get autoglass to fit it. So we are looking at Tuesday Wednesday.

My question is. How different is generic glass to vw. I have no heated non dab. Just glass. Do vw add anything different, extra, amazing or is generic autoglass glass ok. As I can have it fitted before beaulieu.

I've never had a problem with aftermarket glass, if you have nothing over and above standard glass I can't see it being an issue.
You might even get one with a top tint which isn't available from VW.
