VW Defect Known Problem (Lower roller on side door)

Not sure if others are aware and I'm just late picking up on it. But I spotted some rust appearing by the lower channel where the roller goes for the side door. I've got a mk4 Caddy that is less than 3 year old so went to VW.

They came back immediately to say it was a Known VW defect where the roller on the bottom takes the paint off on the inside. They have produced a metal plate to go inside so the roller can no longer take the paint off. Obviously mine never had the fix applied hence the rust. Luckily I'm getting mine repaired by VW (At a nominated garage close by) then the metal plate installed. Hopefully this prevents any more issues.

Just thought I'd let folk know in case they want to check this or have the plate fitted before it's too late.
Apologies if this has already been covered.

It’s been mentioned a bit on here, but I didn’t know VW were offering a Fox. Good info
