Gearbox is knackered on my 56 plate SDI

Just been told my gearbox is knackered on my caddy

Its a 56 plate SDI 88k

Does anyone know of any for sale that i can recon and fit, or know of any cheap recons

Based in hertfordshire willing to travel

When you say knackered how bad is it? You may be able to recon your own box and most places are only a few days turnaround

Hello mate, sorry for the lack of info where will i find the GBOX code?

Took it to a transmission firm and he said from the noises its making the "cold rivets" have come out of a plate and caused it to crack

They want to take mine and give me a recon £1100 fitted inc vat

Not sure if thats a good or bad price

You will find the gearbox code on the vans build sticker? Not sure where it is on a caddy but can be found stuck inside the service book aswell

Some MK4 golf gearboxes suffered this aswell

I use a local firm called S&D Transmissions 01302 739897 who are very reasonable on price
