Re: Possible bargain shocks
Yeah I understand that but 4 inches seems quite a lot, and I'm not lowering it just yet as the roads I drive ain't the best just thought as the shocks were so cheap id give them a go to tighten it up a bitbrycieboy wrote:You need shorter shocks for lowering the van

Re: Possible bargain shocks
Hi, been interesting reading all ur posts!!
I'm in the process of sorting my caddy, just had it all painted now wanting to lower it,,
Questions.....
On the front,
do the golf mk5 front shocks fit???
And what springs fit? Caddy or golf springs?
How do I no if my front shocks are 50 or 55mm?
I'm going for 18" so would lowering it 55mm be low Enof?
Rears....
After reading ur posts I no I don't need to buy the mk2 caddy shocks! Touchy subject!!
Thinking of the dark side kit but do I need shocks to go with this??
Plz help an try an answer all my questions plz

Re: Possible bargain shocks
How is the ride compared to stock? I managed to get a pair of the 54s. My standard shocks work fine but the ride in the back is terrible! Just (still) waiting for some continuous dry days/weekend to swap em over...deanhook1978 wrote:Mine r on and fitted all ok. Cant remem which ones. Il look under n get the code...at some point.

Re: Possible bargain shocks
Lets rectify this thread again!
So the 54's no longer exist on the FK website
But they do have the 52's and It says on the spec tab that they fit the caddy2k???
So did anyone mange to get 52's fitted ok without any issue?
And/Or does anyone know where you can buy the 54's now? Or are they obsolete?
Cheers

Re: Possible bargain shocks
I can only see two types under vw Caddy.
.......50 "fit for caddy 1"
.......52 "fit for caddy 2"
There are no ......54 listed which is what anyone who has previously had success has fitted.
Look back through the thread and you will see how many bought the 52 as they took caddy 2 as meaning 2k and not mk2.

I got done with the wrong shocks too, thing is if you look on the specification for the shocks it does state caddy 2k.

Yeah weird ain't it, that's why I'm hesitant about ordering the 52's because everyone on here who says they don't fit....!
FK need to sort this out I feel!
