Nice job that is mate. Exactly what I’m looking at doing. Where did you get all your materials from? Ply kit, insulation and carpet etc..?

Thanks mate.

I bought the deadening and insulation from Deadening.co.uk for £134.99

https://www.deadening.co.uk/products/sm ... ade-bundle

I then bought the 4 way stretch carpet from Amazon for £55

carmats4u 5M X 2M MEGA 4 WAY STRETCH VAN ANTHRACITE LINING CARPET + 5X MEGA HOLD GLUE https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01DYCUZZU/ ... 7Bb2FF9MPJ

Originally I wasn’t going to ply the back but I use the van to carry some photography gear so decided it was best to protect the outer skins.

So I bought this ply kit from eBay, I must say was impressed with the delivery and price.

Sorry, no idea. If Mk4 uses same window and mirror switches as Mk3, then yes, otherwise no.

Got a remap. Seems Caddy 2.0TDi is a bit underpowered in it's South African incarnation (81Kw/108hp). Fixed that. Now it's 120Kw/160hp.

Yeah, very happy with it. Tuner said they could get that up to 130Kw/174hp, but that I'd probably burn out the clutch (too much torque). I can see that, if I put my foot down in 2nd, the wheels want to start spinning!

MOT day and the van failed as both rear calipers were binding, £640 later and it's passed.

This brings my cost for mechanical repairs for the year to just under £1900 (injector, water pump, pulley kit and now both rear calipers)

Cost for Accessories I wanted fitted this year totals at £480 (17" alloys, RNS315, Bluetooth mic, Fabia gear knob, Passat B6 heated electric seats and a loom from Stan the man

And I've only owned the van for 12 months

I'd prefer if you didn't go placing a verbal attack on another member if you don't mind.
On a side note, I've quickly gone on EuroCarParts website and the cheapest of everything (2x Calipers, 2x discs, 1x pads set) comes to £496.33, granted that is with £72 in surcharges. There is no guarantee that all those budget parts were either available locally or wanted buy the guy. I agree it is a lot of money but not everyone has connections in the motor trade.
You have to also realise that with the commercial caddy, for most users time is money. If I were in business and needed my van MOT'd and took a day off for such, I'd have to weigh up the cost of having it fixed at a premium there and then with the financial loss to my company of not making that scheduled customer visit tomorrow and the knock of effects of letting down a client who maybe has burdened themselves with schedulled down time just so you can perform your work.
Circumstances are different for lots of people, just because you might not ever see yourself in that situation doesn't mean you have the right to judge the actions of others and definitely doesn't permit a verbal attack on that person.

Cheers Doc, yes you are spot on, work was scheduled in the calendar and I'd only booked one day clear for the MOT.

Couple of things arrived in the post today. A van-x glove box lid and a 3d printed cup holder insert to stop drink falling over when driving. Fitted both and as always happy with the small and easy mods ImageImageImageImage
