Been preparing my Caddy to be "dipped" too, still some body work to be done. But your car gave me some more ideas on the way.

With regards to what you can spray it onto, it'll go onto anything providing it's clean and all dirt is removed, so yes it'll go onto standard plastic bumpers no problem. My rear bumper was standard plastic one that the dip was sprayed onto.

They spray it on with an electric spraying machine that blows the dip out the gun and I think they're only £150 odd to buy.. Once you have it all you need is the Plastic dip and your away so it wouldn't cost much to have a go yourself.. And if it goes wrong, peel it off and start again

I actually removed the dip completely a couple of weeks back purely because I had a chance to have a full paint re-spray at a price I couldn't say no to but it had to be done fairly quickly.. So to answer the question is it reversible - yes it's completely reversible! It took literally an hour to remove the dip from the whole van apart from the roof which for some reason only peeled off in tiny pieces..

I had so many people say your paint will be ruined or dull when you remove it or that it would pull the lacquer off but it didn't cause one but of damage when I removed it.. Even the roof which I had to spray with WD40 to soften the dip was perfect afterwards..

At the end of the day, if you put it onto a car that's covered in rust or has panels where the lacquer is peeling, of course it's going to possibly cause damage but as long as your paint and lacquer is in relatively good condition, the paint under the dip will be fine!

The finish on the van looks great - looks like a caddy thats in this months T4 mag

I tried to Plastidip some wheels a few weeks back, took 2 attempts to get it right and then once they were on the van they started to peel

But saying that I'm crap at spraying, so will leave it to someone else next time

love the idea of picking up a cheap caddy, lowering, wheels and plast dip to colour code it, nice ride for not too much money (or more money available for wheels!!)

I sprayed a wing on my T4 as a test just before Xmas and it's still on there now. I'm really surprised tbh with how tough it is. It's not to much of a pain to peel off either of the initial coat is good and the bodywork was degreased and clean to begin with.
