Advice needed for MFSW retro fit

Post by Tin2080 »

Hi all
I'm looking to retro fit a multi function steering wheel to my Caddy highline 2013.
Would like a simple reply outlining exactly what items I need to carry out this mod.
I've looked on YouTube and it looks straight forward but I'm confused regards parts and part numbers ..
Can I use my original wheel and bag but replace blanks with multi function buttons !?
Thanks
Steve

Hi,
I'll try to answer this but maybe not in the order you have asked your questions.

Part numbers can be found HERE on the Ross-Tech site.
You most likely have the 5K0-953-549* version module, there are 3 shown on the link as possibly suitable for your application.
So, Step 1, find a suitable module.
Step 2: follow your YouTube video on the fitting.

IF your original wheel has removable blanks then it's likely you can buy buttons to fit in their place.
You'll need the module and connecting ribbons for within the wheel (behind the airbag)along with a suitable airbag harness to allow connection of the steering wheel control module to the module within the wheel.

Hi Doc
Thanks for info
I'll prob go for new buttons to replace blanks as my steering wheel is fine ..
Save me airbag cost etc ..
I'm guessing my module is midline as I only have cruise and computer ??
Will I need highline module to accommodate the multi function buttons ?
Thanks

Just been on flea bay and found multi function buttons to suit my exsisting wheel but they are from China !
Look exactly the same as genuine buttons but unsure whether to dive in a buy em !
Anyone bought these ? Any feedback appreciated
