My Fishing Caddy

Post by James_Solihull »

Hi All,

It's not to everyone's taste, I'm not even sure if it's to my own taste but this is my Caddy and where I am with it so far. Bought it to use for my weekend hobby/love, match fishing - it spends most weekends in muddy fields. It's crying out for coilovers but they're just too impractical for my weekends fishing.

Still looking for alternative wheels, possibly the same with the centre's in anthrite/grey, but who knows.

Took these photo's couple of months ago. I've since fitted Golf TDi seats, Touran arm rest, different gear stick/gaitor and finished carpeting the rear. Also had the rear windows tinted (rather than the 100& black vinyl that was already on it), and built some rear shelves for my rods/poles.

Would love a T5 Transporter but cannot currently fit it in my garage :(.

Looks quality mate, but your right .. Screaming out for coilovers haha hsve tou thought about some eibach 40mm springs ?? Not a massive drop but still practical enough and will make a big difference.

I have thought / looked at the lowering options mate, but it's just not practical. I had an Astra Sportive SE van before this, which I lowered and fitted the VXR bumpers and side skirts. it looked real smart in my opinion, but within weeks I had split the front bumper through entering a field and from that day onwards I regretted lowering it...my only option is air suspension, but let's not go there.

Next on my list...wind deflectors and look at what other door cards fit.

Ha ok no worries mate, yep Air would be awesome if the funds would allow lol .. The usual option for door cards is Touran's but I've sprayed mine black and Carbon wrapped the handles which doesnt look too bad.

The back of the van I also like a lot!
Can you give some explication how you start to make something like that?

I've no idea how to fix my wood at the side...

Looking good dude, I have the eibach kit in mine and regularly find myself going cross country / farm tracks / up kerbs / verges etc for work and haven't had any problems yet.
