Which size alloy wheel? HelP!!
Hi this is my first post and will try and get some pics on this week. I have a 1.9 tdi caddy and have had it lowered at RAD. I want to put new wheels on as currently on 15 inch vw alloys. Can't decide on 17 or 18 inch alloys? Confused by all brands and prices as I don't know what is good or bad. Some people I have spoken to say that if I use 18 inch wheels on low profiles the ride will. E really harsh and I won't be able to carry much weight. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi pal, I have 18's on mine with 40 profile tyres and the ride is fine, never had a problem, carries weight well and to be honest if i was to start again, I'd probably go for 19's lol

I had 18s with a 40 profile and loads of weight and it was fine, I now have 19s with a 35 profile and its a bit more bumpy but looks better and I do prefer 19s

Have 18's on my maxi and not a problem. I can corner better than before and they are not much harsher at all

Thanks for advice much appreciated. There seems to be mixed view on 17 and 18 so I guess it comes down to personal preference.

Running 18s best move I made, looked at 17s but looked at others on here and decided bigger is better.

Sorry for stealing the thread but what size of tyres are you fitting when you put on 19's.
Cheers

Dose anyone find the 18-19's harder on fuel? I'm thinking of getting bigger rims but I do a lot of driving

All about the 19's, except opening the sliding door can be an issue

I had 19's on before with 235 /35/19 tyres with et42 fit well but harsh, now on 18x8 et45 with 225-40-18, which are much better ride and are cheaper for tyres

Agree with Torque as have had same change before. Now on 19's again and love them. But 18's do ride better. Then again 19's fill the arch better......hmmmmm
