Been a bit quiet on the caddy. Sat in the garage on trickle charge. Thought I'd treat it to a new coffee mug so when I'm wandering about at shows you know who I am

Took a camelbak forge vacuum 16oz mug and wrapped it in 3m 1080 carbon. Not as easy as you think as the mug tapers but after 3 attempts I got it round reasonably well. Tried a new (to me) technique of using 3m knifeless tape for the join. Not perfect but its just a bit of fun.

Thats a good question! My Caddy is unlikely to ever have coffee in it for fear of marking the interior, plus the Caddy has a MK6 Golf coin tray now where my cupholder used to be. I've got another one that I did for my Hilux which has a similar depth to the cupholder so will test it out.

A friend does them. He has a business but it’s changed names recently and I don’t know the new one! Will try and find out.

Hi Dan
I’ve been reading your threat for around 2 hours. What a lovely caddy you built, congratulations 👌
If you don’t mind I have a question for you. I own a 2014 caddy maxi life. How about to retrofit caddy 4 tailgate on it? Is just plug and play? I know I must change the rear lights but I’m not sure what else donI need.
Thanks mate and sorry for my English.. I’m from Spain.
Cheers 🍻

Thank you. Unfortunately the tailgate is not easy or cheap. I think the roof has to be peeled open slightly to remove the structure and replaced with the version for the tailgate. There are other bits I can't remember but I know its a lot of work. Mine was easier as the side panel was being removed so access to the pieces was better and the job was cheaper because the labour costs were shared between the 2 jobs.

Really enjoying reading through the evolution of the van, it's looking incredible. Any tips on the plastic welding?
