Re: My new Facelift Caddy
Really love your car!!
stil have some questions, did you paint the chrome part of the side bumpstrips black or is it still chrome?
And how are the original parts mounted, glued or are there holes in the door so you can mount them easy?
And the mirrors, did you have to use polyester or something to make it fit, and electrical, just plug and play??

Re: My new Facelift Caddy
Side trims are Edition 30 trims so they come in black not chrome. They original trims are on double sided tape. There is holes to line them up.
Mirror wiring is plug and play so nice and easy. The mirrors are a direct fit on the mounts apart from making the hole slightly bigger to go over the caddy mount. Once on it's just a case of making the caddy mirror cap and the golf mirror cap fit together.

Re: My new Facelift Caddy
The mk6 mirror cap fits with no modification. All you need to do is use the caddy inner part of the mirror cap to fill in the gap then bond it together.

Re: My new Facelift Caddy
Sorry for being so dumb but i don't really get it, which gap do you need to fil?
because if i would use the mk6 mirror on the caddy base, and it would fit without modifications, i would not have a gap??

Re: My new Facelift Caddy
This is the mk6 mirror on the caddy mount above. You can see the metal part of the caddy mount as the mk6 cap does not cover as there is a gap. To fill this I used the inner part of a caddy cap.
Below is the finished article with the caddy cap filling the gap between the mirror and mount.

No i see what ypu mean mate!
is it hard to do?
i would really like to do this on my caddy, is it just like cutting out the plastic part and mount it on the caddy base?
i think it would be a really tough job, lol

Re: My new Facelift Caddy
Easy to do. Just cut the infill part bigger than you need and file it as required. Does not have to be perfect as it will be filled later.

Hi Autokraft I love the caddy by the way shame u sold it... I have just brought some Audi 19" 9jx18 et52 alloys and im scared the rear door will not open. I was going to get 8mm spacers for the rear like yourself. Please say you could open your side door???? Cheers

How do you remove the original vents mate ?Autokraft wrote:Got some 2012 Audi TT vents in the weeke and fitted them today.
Also fitted my led number plate lights and coded out the bulb cold diagnostics.
Going to tint my rear windows tomorrow and start sound proofing the rear.
