Yep doc it's rubbish, it's mainly fronts as the rears seem to sit further out I think, council are not interested, a few have complained before

Hi Ken it's just inner edge on fronts and the writing on rear wheel inner side walls

If it’s just the inner edge I would make sure the tracking is dead parallel not toeing out as almost all tyre places seem to set it.
I found that with the van being lowered the needed tracking to maintain even tyre wear changed from std

For the rears are u sure the tyre isn’t touching the plastic wheel arch guard as I would think it’s impossible for that to come in contact with the road

Hi Ken the inner edge damage is from the speed bumps I travel over every day.. The tyres pass either side but rub on the raised edge of tarmac bump

So had some knocking from rear suspension and convinced myself that one of my gaz dampers was playing up, took a bit to find but a rear drop link had come loose some how, nut was very tight so think maybe I hadn't seated it right but it's took some time to come loose, half a turn on nut and job done considering it sounded like it was falling off

So after this have decided to take a different direction, I'm going to be buying some new Mercedes Vito 17"steels, having them painted and fitting 205/50/17 tyres.. Should be a better ride and maybe improve mpg but that may be wishful thinking

If you want them to poke out a bit more, you can get Tiguan 17" steels. Same dimensions but with ET38, instead of ET50 on the mercs.

Of course in normal VW fashion here in NZ, the VW part costs 50% MORE than the merc part.
