Maxi life build

Post by torque777 »

Decided to do a build thread, I was originally looking for a T5 caravelle or shuttle, but they were stupid money, my Farther in law told me they did a caddy with 7 seats so I started searching on ebay, found this straight away at a garage in Droitwich, ended up fighting over it with a woman who also wanted it, luckily I got there before garage opened and bought it, I'm used to the 1.9 pd engine so it seemed an ideal choice

Picked it up like this a few weeks ago ...someone has spent some money it ..
It allready has 19" audi rs6 reps ..genuine sportline front spoiler and chrome sportline lower grill, the grill is completely colour coded and with add on vw chrome, tony banks cat back no box system with duplex outlets.also a remap ..stainless bragan side bars (which have lights)..also has from factory ..cruise ..privacy rear windows ...I like the surf blue (British gas !) Colour

Quite like the exhausts ....

I removed all the wheels and painted the calipers and discs silver and back plates black ..also got some mothers polish and attacked the exhaust tailpipes, they were really bad and full of baked on carbon

One thing I struggled with was the garage had removed the wheels to referb them and fit new rear brakes ...but had seriously over tightened the wheel bolts ...I ended up rounding off the locking wheel tool ..luckily it was on the socket end so welded a socked onto it
Image
That got them out and I fitted some vw ones I had lying about

One thing that didn't work but I thought did was the A/C ...so I popped the gauges on at work and there was nothing in the system ..so went and put some nitrogen in it and I suspected the condensor was at fault ..and sure enough it was leaking ...so went and got a new one from ECP ..Image
Got the bumper off nice and easy ..then thought I can see it but how do you remove the front ?? Worked it out in the end Image
Image
Image
It wasn't fun having the rad and intercooler just hanging there but got it done quick ..also fitted two new high and low tone horns ...while there ..put it all together and got a mobile guy round to re gas it ...all working now so very happy
