So took my gaz dampers off tonight, looking at them they only look to be starting to weap so caught them early, also I cleaned up and painted the old dampers before refitting them, there is no way you could leave these on for long, there is only an inch travel ImageImageImage

Now all you need is the vent rings... :)

Good job on the pedals, I went the VW route, which has the same (looking) rubbers for the brake and clutch, but needs the whole accelerator pedal (mechanism and all) replaced, which bumps the price up a bit... :/

I did have the vent rings, but didn't like them, I would consider the cross caddy vents as these are gloss black and with chrome ring built in

According to the brochures yes, according to what was fitted in mine, no... I went for the vent rings...

Exactly what I plan to replace the standard shocks with when they finally pop.

I will be selling my rear bilstein shocks soon as I'm fitting the 5 link kit and having quantum racing shocks made for it.
The bilsteins are only 6 months old

I'd have them but I'm still in need of colour coding and a few finishing touches to the interior. I'm hoping to get 12 months out of the standard shocks first as I can tell the wife that it failed MOT and needs new shocks haha. Big brakes and lowering is already 'just new wheels love' if I push it any further I fear she may kill me

So been playing about for a few hours, since taking the gaz off and sending off for service I was planning to leave standard dampers on till I could get round to buying some bilsteins, but I noticed this last week that the suspension was crashing and banging and not very nice to drive, so popped her on to axle stands and saw the damper had burst its seals, took them off and re fitted the gaz for now, found that gaz had fitted new bushes when they serviced them, not sure why as I had no issue with them, I only really noticed as they had fitted them the wrong way round again!! So pressed them out and fitted correctly, set them to 8 clicks out of 20 for now and will see how firm that feels, next I removed the mud flaps, they have been great at cutting down on crap being thrown up but always caught on stuff, plus front left was nearly hanging off, next I lowered the rear one hole just to get it a bit more level, I'm pleased with how it sits but we will see how it behaves when fully loaded, also had some paint mixed for the wheels so cleaned rear ones and touched up chips ImageImageImageImageImage

Simply awesome thread and love the caddy :D
Looking to adopt (copy) some ideas on my new to me swb - thanks for posting the info.
May sound silly but I'm in awe of you guys (and girls) that keep one particular vehicle for so long - I'm the worst for chopping and changing bikes and cars - but now I have the caddy I'm hoping it will be around for a while :D
