Re: My Blackberry Caddy
Yeah they sent me another complete dash because the entire ducting skeleton part was missing from the first one so I now have 2 Touran dashboards and all the trims in my spare room

Hi Barbel,
I’m chasing a replacement dash at the moment... if your old Caddy one is still in good condition and you decide to get rid of it, let me know

Re: My Blackberry Caddy
My caddy dash has a few scratches on it under the glovebox/passenger knee area from the previous owner. It's not terrible but it is partly the reason why I'm changing it, plus the Touran dash is better quality. You're more than welcome to have the caddy one for free, it'll only go in the skip. There's a possibility I might change it this weekend if it's not pouring with rain.

Re: My Blackberry Caddy
Very kind of you, thanks mate... the damage on mine isn’t too bad either, but just a bit annoying... looks like the BG engineer used to throw things up onto the dash above the Speedo, so there’s a few little scratches.
What part of the world are you in? I may take you up on your offer if the drive isn’t too bad

Nice one... that’s not too far for me... good luck with your dash change, drop me a message when it’s ready for collection and we can sort something out.
Thanks again

Not been doing much to the van lately but took a few photos while fishing in Norfolk last week. Beautiful sunshine one day, grim and grey the next

This looks awesome! And still practical enough to actually get out and about in! Excellent work.

Re: My Blackberry Caddy
Done my Touran dash swap today. Wasn’t too bad a job actually, took me about 5-6 hours but I was massively slowed down by the pouring rain all day long.
Start by removing airbag by pushing the clips from the back.
12mm spline bit to remove the big bolt holding the steering wheel.
Pry up the trim below the clocks
Undo torx screw under the cowling
Pry apart the top and bottom sections of the cowling
2 screws to remove cowling
1 tiny torx screw here
Unclip 5 plugs around the stalks
Remove tiny screw and pull stalks off.
Remove 2 screws under clocks, unclip plug on the back then lift out.
2 more screws here
Pull the panel off which holds the light switch and unplug the 2 plugs, and also unclip the OND port
OBD
Pull out ashtray and remove screw behind it.
Remove screw under the gear lever gaiter.
2 screws underneath coin tray
2 screws under the steering column.
Remove centre console/gear lever surround and you’ll see 2 more screws
1 screw behind where the light switch was
Pry off the trim surrounding the stereo, remove 4 torx screws from stereo then 4 from heater controls and pull both out.
Now in the passenger side. Remove 6 screws and take out glovebox. Then you’ll see a couple more screws to take out
Take the dash top storage tray out to reveal 2 screws
Swap these 2 vents for Touran ones so they mate up with the Touran dash.
Remove 2 x 10mm bolts and 2 x 13mm nuts on both side brackets and swap these brackets for Touran ones.
Now you can just pull the dashboard towards you and it’ll come right out.
Re-fit dash and do all the above steps in reverse to complete the job.

Re: My Blackberry Caddy
Yeah once you know where all the little screws are hidden it'd be a piece of cake to do it again. That's why I thought I'd do a bit of a "how to" as there's nothing on the forum really with photos. Hopefully it will help somebody out.slipperjake wrote: ↑Fri Mar 30, 2018 8:19 pm Nice job mate!

I still need to get the piece of trim that goes directly under the clocks. I was expecting to be able to use my caddy one but it's completely different. Also think I need a Touran ashtray and the bit it sits in which holds the cigarette lighter as something there isn't quite right.
Painting all my white trims grey tomorrow, plus covering the roof lining and parcel shelf, then fit all that back together.

Re: My Blackberry Caddy
Thanks. Been dreading it for a while but it really isn't as daunting as it looks. Everybody who's done it seems to say the same
It's only screws and plastic clips at the end of the day
