You must get fed up with changing the turbo, admire your drive to get it perfect

My caddy build and face lift
Bmm core unit so turbo is still facing up as std. BMW 1 series exhaust turbine which is the same size as the 150 arl one. It just has the back between the blades closed in. And the housing for the larger ex wheel needs to be re profiled and bored out to fit it.
And a 49mm kanigua light weight billet compressor wheel. That's also the same size as the 150 arl but the blades are a slightly different pitch and it's lighter.
Again the compressor housing re profiled to suit.

Have you not considered a roller bearing turbo ken? Should spool up nice with ceramic bearings?

Re: My caddy build and face lift
I did but that means going to a tubular manifold which generally is un reliable due to cracking etc and as the van is used every day I need reliability. Plus the cost of a timer eating turbo is too much.

Finally got my mk2 RS on the road. Still a few things to get done and a total remap of the new motec ecu but at least I can drive it now.

Trouble with a log manifold is they are too inefficient.

Well done Ken. You've created a great caddy and a great build thread to go along side it.

What a fantastic thread - van is awesome.
Could you cast your mind back to the Bilstien B8s and tell me what you used for the front dust boots please Ken?
Thanks
