Re: My caddy build and face lift
Well it’s been a bad day for me today and my caddy is now in need of another front end rebuild
Cost of new genuine parts alone comes to just over £3000.
By the way does anyone know if the caddy mk3 front bumper will fit into a facelift 2011 front end

Re: My caddy build and face lift
Was in traffic behind a flat bed transit. We both moved forward, I looked in my rear mirror and that was it too late he stopped and I was up his ass
So it’s about 5k to rebuild it. Luckily I have an agreed value on it so hopefully insurance will sort it all out.
I’ll probably make some changes like proper be xenon lights so I don’t have to spend hours stripping and rebuilding std ones to put the xenon kit I have in

Re: My caddy build and face lift
These things happen and flat beds tend not to have a scratch on them - very annoying
I’m sorry that this has happened as hadn’t seen it in a long time - maybe changes things that you weren’t happy with ? Never ending work

Re: My caddy build and face lift
Thanks guys it’s going to be a lot of work but gives me the excuse to pull out the engine and bore it out to take 2.0 Ltr pistons plus do a brand new fully gas flowed head for it.
There are only a couple of minor things I would change body work wise but nothing too noticeable.

Re: My caddy build and face lift
Just waiting for the insurance accessor to come and look at it now.
As soon as he’s been I will start stripping it down so I can get a full picture of the damage.
I’m hoping the dark side intercooler survived.
I have already got a set of big valves for the cylinder head so on Monday I will order a brand new head casting so that I can get on with doing a full gas flowed head for it.

I’m sure the darkside intercooler will be fine them things are built like a tank! If you do need one I know of one for sale.

Re: My caddy build and face lift
Good news is the intercooler is fine and Undamaged. Bad news is the touran bumper section is also buggered and will have to be replaced.
Last bit of good news is the insurance accessor has given the go ahead to get on with repairing it all.

Re: My caddy build and face lift
Thanks torque.
It’s going to be a good two months I think as I have some other bits I have to get done first as I’m having a new garage built and I need to Finnish getting the site ready.
Im also going to pull the engine out and do the 2.0ltr conversion with a brand new head fully gas flowed and bigger valves
