Another update on the new inlet manifold.
I have now finnished the lower and mid sections.
I made them bolt together with flanges that can easily be got to from the top which makes getting at the turbo and pipework downtime back of the engine much easier.
I have surfaced all the faces of the flanges on my head skimming machine after welding to make sure they are dead flat. And I have matched all the gasket faces and ported it all to match the head. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Engine all built up and my manifold just clears the bolt in bulkhead.
There are a few little mods to make and tidying up but I think it’s going to work wellImageImageImageImage

What's the height like for clearance under the bonnet?

Loads of clearance for the bonnet it’s the bolt in bulkhead section that covers in the ecu and wiper linkage section that it’s close to but I can sort it

I’ve got a bit more welding to do and a support bracket to make.
I did a test on a small area yesterday and found that the wire wheel on my bench grinder does a pretty good job of shining it up so I was going to flat the welds down a bit then buff it all up with the wire wheel
If it still looks a bit crap I could make a cover for it but I’m hoping I can make it look good enough.
