My Caddy 2k build.

Post by Moffatt »

Hi Everyone.
As I know my Caddy will snowball out of control I thought I'd start a project thread.

So after a lot thought about a older cheaper then convert it to facelift or buy a facelift low miler I settled on this beauty.
Basically the only points that the van had to meet were.
No side doors
Not a standard colour
Petrol engine ready for the GTI R swap later this year.

I've had lots of project cars and all my cars spend a lot of time at the racetrack but now with my job and house I only have space for one car, it needed to be different (I'm different so has to match me) and fit my bike in the back.

Plans so far.

Lower on Vmaxx
18" vw phaeton wheels and semi slicks
Golf r20 bumper conversion
Colour coded and some things removed.
Gti 6 seats and steering wheel
TTRS front brakes
Gti running gear tuned to 340 ish bhp.

I'll make new posts as I work on it around my normal job.

Enough now so I picked it up on Saturday and here it is.

Update :D

Yesterday and today I've already started a few mods.
Wheels and stickers fitted and registered with my Monkey plates.
Removed the bulkhead so I can put the seat in a nice position.
Changed the rear wiper round so it sits down on the window.
Started to build my golf R20 front bumper

Going to look great. I really want to do that bumper but the golf bumpers seem to be around £300 just too dear for me

Update time. The body shop is snowed under so it's a little slow but I should have it back this week :)

This is going to be a nice build.

I've always said these caddy's would look great with no side doors, didn't know they did one with no side doors?

I live in Germany now at the Nürburgring so maybe it's just a German version. But even then I had to look for a while!

Finally found time to put the suspension on. As it's going to be a ring tool aswell I haven't gone crazy low but I'm really happy with the look and the colour is even better now it's lowered.
Hopefully all my bumpers are back from paint this weekend
