Re: My Scottish gas maxi build
I used a similar rubber flooring in my Maxi but it's been fitted for about six weeks and it still stinks of rubber! Tried everything to get rid of the smell but it's still thereTDean122 wrote: I like it it's definitely grippy I stapled it to the ply under neath and then went round the edges with black silicone to prevent dirt going between it. It's easy to clean that's the reason I chose this over carpet it looks good and wipes down easy or just sweep it out.

Mine did smell for a while but I think after cleaning it a few times with plastic/vinyl car cleaner it took the smell away

I'll have another go at it. Used similar stuff in my T5 and the smell went away after a week or so but this stuff stinks especially when the van gets hot - it's doing my head inTDean122 wrote: Mine did smell for a while but I think after cleaning it a few times with plastic/vinyl car cleaner it took the smell away

Nice van mate. Can I ask if you have any plans or measurements for you R&R bed? Been thinking of building mine but not sure where to start. Cheers.

Re: My Scottish gas maxi build
Hi, i actually removed it just now sitting in a garage when I moved and have no idea what happened to my plans I got them off eBay for £10 but honestly when I finished it I wasn't much of a saving considering you can buy a good frame for £250 ish
I followed the plans and it was too high and not good for sitting so I cut it down a bit bad thing with this is it won't fit over the wheel arch now but it's better for sitting
Il have a look for the plans and see if I can find them

Got a nice custom badge made from ellis custom colour and it looks amazing can't wait to get it in this weekend once I get the van all clean. Next thing I really need to do is sort out some little rusty bits and get rid of the horrible swirls somehow
