OEM+ Caddy Maxi Camper/ Day Van Build

Post by Robelliott »

Hi guys,

I'm new to the caddy world but always been in love with the VW's. Recently sold a Mercedes C220 for something more practical and what better could I have chosen then the caddy maxi 2.0Tdi Highline! It's such a dream to drive and I'm very happy with the purchase..

Anyway enough of the chat here are some pics.

Here it is freshly picked up from Bristol:

Back home next to the Mercedes:

Had to remove the grandad features (roof bars and tow bar):

RS6 Reps fitted this weekend.. went with 18" but I wish I had ordered 19's now! Vmaxx coilovers were meant to be delivered but apparently there is a shortage right now? Hopefully fitting next weekend as it desperately needs lowering!!!

Private plate fitted:

And most important the OEM+ sticker:

I am a big fan of keeping things OEM (ish) so looking forward to trying to upgrade this van to some of your standards.

Plans:

Lower on Vmaxx
R Line MFSW
Audi S1 vents
Audi S-line seats
Caddy 4 rear light conversion
Caddy 4 rear bumper if I can source and fit
Fully insulate/ carpet rear
Install leisure battery/ inverter for camping and charging drone
Potential front bumper change Image

All pretty standard mods but looking for the OEM+ look!

Let me know what you think and keep posted!

Hi Guys,

Quick update on the Build from this weekend..

Just a few needed modifications, nothing special but she is sitting much prettier now!

Before:

Backs Down:

And finally the front down! (ran out of light by this point Image)

Got very lucky with how it sits from guessing the adjustments! I went with the Vmaxx coilover kit. Very happy with the quality and ride comfort.

Few from this evening although it was raining:

And some lary LED drls

Ordered a load from TPS so look out for more updates this weekend!

No not yet but need to, I've been running lowered for 18 months now and been lucky, well I've had to instant metal my sump!

Quick update from this evening's jobs:

Image

Facelift rear lights fitted Image
OEM Rear bumper guard fitted Image

Other parts collected from TPS:
Sportline spoiler
Rail covers for both sides
Grey clips for carpeting the interior

Has anyone got any photos of grey Caddy's with bump strips/ rear handle (above number plate) colour coded? Undecided as I think these items look quite good standard.

And a pic with all the lights illuminated
