Silver caddy camper/mtb van
Hi guys,
Thought I'd finally get around to starting a thread.
So I bought a silver caddy trendline October last year. 1.6 TDI, 58k miles all in pretty good condition.
Guy who I had bought it off of had already done quite a bit too it, new wheels, roof/side rails, sprayed front and rear bumper to match the rest and some carpet lining to the back.
Here's a picture of how it is now.
Have done a few things already like; built a pull out bed, lined the floor with a rubber matting, removed the bulk head. Will post picture when home as working away at moment.
Plans for the future;
Getting full carpet lining with insulating as current is not the best,
Reverse sensors or camera not yet decided and wiring in a leisure battery, new lighting etc.
Look forward to posting more in the future

So finally home now and here's a picture of the rubber matting down and the bulk head out.
Next job on the list is to cut the bulk head down to cover the gaps around the edges.
Also plan on starting to fit the leisure battery and light this weekend.

Nicely done, is it better for the MTB's with the bulkhead out?

Haven't yet tried it, going to tomorrow I think. I have lost a fixing point now though so will let you know how I get on.Aikon wrote:Nicely done, is it better for the MTB's with the bulkhead out?

Re: Silver caddy camper/mtb van
So had a busy day today wiring in the leisure battery and ceiling lights. Also made the most of having the ceiling down and put some insulation in.
Here's the split charge relay on top of the fuse box taking the power. From here it went through in under the passenger seat to the next fuse and then in to the leisure battery.
From the leisure battery we put a fuse box, and then from here this where I'm wiring the lights, sockets and USB ports in the back.
Still waiting on for the plugs/ports so just leaving the cables coiled up here and panels off for now.
But here's the insulation on the ceiling
Waiting for it to get dark so I can get a good comparison picture of the original single lights and the ones I have in now. Excuse the mess!
Thanks to scrabby67 for big help wiring up!

Cracking van, very jealous. Did you buy a system for the leisure battery or put something together yourself?
Any photos of the bed? Did you make that from scratch or follow a plan?

What's the carpeted side paneling on - is something like masonite sheeting or plywood?

5 bikes plus 1 weeks worth of luggage. Easy fit with room to spare I reckon I could get 6 bikes in! (At a push)
