Bit more carpeting done - only got the cut down bulkhead pieces and the roof left to do :)

Also, purchased these numberplate LEDs from Travelinlite - very nicely made and a straight swap :D

They are apparently canbus friendly but I already had the bulb out light on the dash so no idea if they are or not

Thanks for the comments - I got 8x tins with the kit and I've got 2x unused ones left.

Today I cut down both bulkhead pieces, sanded smooth and covered in carpet. They really do finish it off nicely and much cheaper than the CaddyLife upper and lower B pillar trims from VW.

Also, put up some VW flavoured tin signs on the garage wall that I got recently :D

Good stuff mate, the stretch carpet is easy once you get the hang of it. Vans looking good.

Nearly finished the carpet !

Had a couple of days away from working on the van due to life commitments, but back on it this evening as I have now finished until Tuesday :D

I was intending to use the same carpet on the roof panel that I've used on the sides, but I had a little brain wave and bought a roll of 'hipster' wallpaper. I used some of my good friend Mr contact adhesive and ran the lengths diagonally across width ways - I've decided it looks better like that but mainly because I didn't end up with one long join right down the middle and another 2" strip as the width of the roof panel is 2 and a bit widths of a roll of wallpaper :?

Something abit different - what do you think?

Next, I decided to tackle the flooring. Plenty of options from Lino, Altro, carpet etc but I chose to use B&Q 50x50 carpet tiles in a gunmetal/anthracite to contrast the smoke carpet lining on the walls.

A box of 10 tiles is £23 and is just enough for the SWB van with a few offcuts left over. Made some templates out of cardboard as theycame round the front of the wheelarches.

Liking the wall paper been thinking of doing something other than carpet on my roof to try and lighten things up a bit. Maybe wallpaper is the way to go! And really like the carpet tile idea I had them down In a small gym type room and they were really hard wearing to probably ideal for van back.... did you use contact adhesive to stick to ply?

Thanks - yes, had some spray glue left from the carpet lining kit :D

I've seen a camo pattern material or alcantara/suede on the roof but never wallpaper - maybe I'm a trend setter
