time I had a project...

Post by Bwj182 »

Finally decided it was time to get a van for work and play.
Being a big vw fan I had no choice but to opt for a caddy. Picked up a great condition 2011 caddy with electric pack local to me at a great price. Pretty standard when I got hold of it about a week ago... but got plans that include; insulate and carpet, gti gtd or scirroco Seats, lower on springs, 18" vw alloys of some sort, plus various other little touches to add a bit of style and comfort.Image

This is the rear when I picked the van up and now after adding some bubble wrap insulation. Still waiting for the rest of my insulation and tape to arrive in the post ImageImage

Nice - you're slightly ahead of me as you've got colour coded bits already - but our vans are similar otherwise :D :D

Had a look at your thread earlier actually. Your van is looking good. Like the wiper delete might have a go at this some time if I don't use wiper much. Also good to see you have some carpet in probably the job I'm least looking forward to Image

Thanks. Yes, wiper delete is easy enough and only costs a couple of quid. I wasn't looking forward to the carpet either - the wheelarches were ok but quite fiddly - hence opting for the easier route and carpeting the ply lining panels in one go for the sides :)

So my scirroco seats turned up and I can't wait to get them in. But might have to as I have lots of other jobs to do first... including spraying my cream touran bases ImageImage

I like the seats! Is it just bolt on to the Touran base?
Really want to do the seat conversion on mine, but i want to find a nice set of the Golf GTE seats 8)
If my writing/grammar is poor, it's beacause I'm a Norwegian

Yeah got them all waiting to go in hoping to pick up a touran centre console and fit that and the seats in at same time give me more access. Bolts right onto my touran bases just need to get some scirocco seat bolts as caddy has thinner bolts

Finally carpet all done. Just a bit of tidying up to do. Cut some holes through to the tie down points and added some loops so I can still tie things down ImageImage

New light in from britalitz really lights up the back. The two little spots are battery powered ones from Lidl I will use if camping in back.ImageImage

Also got my touran centre console fitted and my touran bases and scirroco seats test fitted as I don't yet have the spline tool needed to tighten the bolts ImageImage
