Had a spare 5 mins today so swapped the insulation from the bonnet over. Dead easy, my kind of mod lol

Anyone know if I need to disconnect the batter prior to removing the seats?

No mate. Just don’t turn on the ignition if the seats are out. As it will thou up a passenger air bag error, well it did for mine. but if the ignition is off your be fine. I even added power to my seats to make them electric still didn’t take the battery off.
